A little about myself
Hello, my name is Keith Johnson,

My background is in art and visual effects, 40 years in all, with 30 of those years with Lucasfilm. Being able
to retire a couple of years ago has allowed me to concentrate on my artistic passion; metal sculptures.
My work is inspired by a deep connection to nature: walks in the forests, hiking along rivers and coasts, and diving around the world all have given me the inspiration I need to create. My sculptures are representations of the things I love; things human and of nature, and the art of building and creating.
The creative process is exciting. Extremely hot temperatures of torches, sparks flying everywhere, loud cutting, and grinding noises are all part of the process. It’s exciting to watch, and a little hazardous. Whatever the reason, for me it’s calming meditation.
The materials I use include steel, stainless steel, copper, and bronze. The sculptures are made pliable with a high-temperature Oxy-Acetylene torch while a plasma cutter is used for texturing and gauging, a MIG welder is used for joining steel and texturing as well.

Thank you for spending time with my sculptures.
